People think they can beat Insomnia by popping sleeping pills. But that would just give them a temporary relief. It’s like eating a painkiller for sprain. You may only temporarily suppress the symptoms without solving the actual problems.
Also remember that sleeping pills may also be unsafe if you have any health problems. Instead of sleeping pills you can try these tips. Perhaps they may work better to induce sleep instead of sleeping pills
- Limit your use of caffeine (coffee, tea, sodas, chocolate), decongestants, alcohol and tobacco.
- Exercise more often.
- Reduce or manage the stress in your life.
- Don’t lie in bed worrying about things. Set aside another time just for worrying. For example, spend 30 minutes after dinner writing down what’s worrying you and what you can do about it.
- Have a glass of warm milk before you go to bed.
- Don’t nap during the day if naps seem to make your insomnia worse.
