Here are some common myths about sleep

  1. Not everyone needs eight hours of sleep. Everyone has different sleep needs.
  2. Sleeping long is not healthy. Research shoes that long sleepers suffer from health problems like depression and sleep apnea.
  3. Some people can be as fresh as a daisy even with just four hours of sleep daily.
  4. Waking up during the night doesn’t mean you will be tired all day.
  5. Sleeping pills help beat insomnia is not a right thing to believe. Behavioral therapy and lifestyle change works far better than pills.
  6. You cannot make up for lost sleep on weekends.
