Sleep is one of the most important health factors that out body needs. Passion flower (Passiflora incarnata): Passion flower is an excellent sleep inducing herb, which calms the body. Besides, it relieves muscular spasms and pain. It is widely used to treat general insomnia. This herb was extensively used by the Aztecs as an analgesic and a sedative. Passion flower contains harmine, also known as telepathine owing to its unique ability to induce a meditative and blissful mental state. Take 40-50 drops of liquid around 45 minutes ahead of bed-time.

Lavender (Lavandula officilnalis): Lavender acts as a gentle, boosting tonic for the nervous system. Add a few drops of lavender oil into a lukewarm bath before bed or inhale lavender oil mixed adequately in water. Alternately, it is a good idea to use the essential oil as a soothing massage compress to induce a peaceful sleep.

Hops (Humulus lupulus): Eighteenth century physicians used hops herb as a sedative especially for those suffering from insomnia due to nervous disorder or extreme anxiety. A major ingredient in beer, hops is well known for its ability to induce sleep. The recommended dosage is 20-30 drops 2-3 times a day.

Chamomile: Chamomile is very relaxing. Besides lulling you to a good night’s sleep, this herb also relieves spasms, eases digestion and helps heal wounds. Chamomile tea is widely used in South America, Europe and Mexico. When mixed with hops, the potion serves as an effective treatment for insomnia.

Valerian (Valeriana Officinalis): Valerian is the best herb for a person who is restless on bed and has a hard time falling asleep. This is so, because valerian has the property to cut short sleep latency.
