Insomnia is a sleep disorder that is very prevalent amongst the urban crowd in the present times. Several sleep techniques are being introduced to help cope up with insomnia.

One of the very famous relaxation technique used to cope with Insomnia is “Visualization”

It is a technique wherein an individual before going to bed imagines soothing and relaxing scenes. During his imagination he involves all the five senses to experience a sense of peace.

For e.g. if he visualizes sleeping on a beach as a relaxing scene, he will imagine the smell of the sand, the wet surf falling on his/her face. He would imagine his fet pressed in soft sand, the cool breeze chilling their body, he could also imagine himself drinking coconut water, with sweet liquid in his mouth.

These relaxing scenes help him to unwind and calm his body down. The more the senses are involved the more relaxed the individual will feel and will be able to sleep easily.
