You should avoid watching television when you are about to sleep. You need to focus on tension areas on your body and learn to relax them. This can help you to put to sleep. During bed time, try to avoid novels which can depress you.

You must go to sleep as early as possible. Since most of the recovering in the body takes between 11PM and 1AM, you must try to sleep early. Also, the gallbladder in your body dumps toxins during this time. If you stay awake, those toxins are put back in your liver. This can disrupt your health. In times when there was no electricity, people used to go to sleep by sunset as most animals do. You should aim to get into sleep between 9:30 P.M. and 10:30 P.M. If you are not habited to sleep early move your sleeping time by 30 minutes everyday. This will help you to increase your sleep time and you can go to bed early. You also need to design your sleeping environment. You need to sleep in a cool, quiet, dark, comfortable place which is devoid of any interruptions. You must check your room for noise or any other disturbances. You can consider using blackout curtains, eye shades, ear plugs and other devices.
